OUI! IT’S SO HUMID should actually read OY! IT’S SO HUMID, a perfect parody of 2 Live Crew's ME SO HORNY.
“Irving and Moisha” really made quite a splash during their relatively short period as performers. Amongst other organizations, the Jewish Anti-Defamation League had something to say about these two gentlemen. It wasn’t complimentary.
The two fellers had had some minor success with a previous CD, FIDDLING WITH TRADITION, which features songs from the play, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, but done in their own “style” – whatever THAT means.
They really hit their stride with AS KOSHER AS THEY WANNA BE and then the follow up album DISCO JEWS (which is even funnier than this one). I’d heard that they had done a Christmas/Hannukah album as well, but I’ve never seen it.
Played the hell out of OY! IT’S SO HUMID on the Brain Sandwich Radio Show over the years, as well as many selections from DISCO JEWS.
Like most novelty acts, the TWO LIVE JEWS went as quickly as they arrived on the scene. I hope that they made a whole lotta jack from their days as performers and that they are doing well now.
