Jack Douglas was a legendary comedy writer, first for Red Skelton, then Jack Paar. Later he went on to write for the Martin Mull-Fred Willard series AMERICA 2-NIGHT. In addition to these gigs, he wrote several wonderfully funny books.
A FUNNY THING HAPPENED TO ME ON MY WAY TO THE GRAVE is his autobiography. I bought this one, along with THE JEWISH-JAPANESE SEX AND COOK BOOK AND HOW TO RAISE WOLVES when I was stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas in the Summer of 1979. I’ve managed to keep these books with me ever since that time.

The Jack Douglas books are not easy to find these days. When I do run across them, I usually pick them up. You should, too, if you can appreciate the clever writing of a Master of American Humor.
Jack was always a hoot, especially if he got a shot on a TV talk show, during the good old days before PC tainted the entertainment waters. Yes, his books are gold, but the only problem is his too similar name - he keeps getting confused with folks including the TV travel show guy and the UK comedian guy.
